After visiting Saatchi Gallery in London it made me think a lot about my display in the exhibition. The gallery was overcrowded, there wasn’t much space for people to move therefore I couldn’t focus much on the art pieces. A lot of exhibitors used a lot of plinths, an array of unusual ones as well.
The displays which were most effective were the minimal ones where the artworks were on the wall, this allowed more space for the visitors to walk around the piece. With this in mind, I will only use plinths if they’re necessary, most of my pieces will be hung on the wall or ceiling.
Because I want an element of my work to be interactive I want to use an acrylic top to let light travel through. When the viewer lifts the piece on top, I want the light in the plinth to switch off.
