Aluminium pour

Today was the day we finally got to do an aluminium pour! I couldn’t take part as i had a sprained ankle but i was able to film the process.

Here we can see team work while they’re pouring Aluminium into the mold, we can see they’re wearing all the necessary safety gear and our teacher was giving them instructions.

I really enjoyed this process but i don’t think it was the best process for my form as it was very organic, it’s really hard to clean up and i won’t get the result i was hoping for. Aluminium works best with casted forms, it’s hard to make a precise form out of polystyrene but then again it quickens the casting process, i’d go through the effort of casting an object next time.
